Frequently asked questions

How do I get started with Veritas?
Download the Veritas app from the App Store, create an account with your email, and tap your iPhone to any product carrying a Veritas microchip. The app will verify the chip and show you the product’s authenticity record.
I scanned a product but the result says “Not authenticated” or “Verification expired”. What does that mean?
"Not authenticated" means the chip’s cryptographic signature didn’t validate against our records — most often this is a counterfeit item or a chip that has been damaged. "Verification expired" means the chip data is older than expected and should be re-scanned. Try tapping the chip again with your phone closer to the product; if you still see an error, please contact us with the product details so we can investigate.
How do I transfer a verified product to a new owner?
Open the product in your Collection, tap Transfer, and enter the new owner’s Veritas account email or wallet address. Once confirmed, the certificate moves to the new owner’s account and they can re-verify the physical product with their phone.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password" — we’ll send a 6-digit reset code to your email. Enter the code along with a new password (minimum 8 characters) to regain access.
How do I delete my Veritas account?
Open Settings inside the app, scroll to the Account section, and tap Delete Account. The two-step confirmation permanently removes your account, anonymizes any transaction history, and disables your wallet. Items you registered remain on the public blockchain (we can’t remove them there) but are no longer linked to any account in our system.
My phone isn’t detecting the chip. What should I do?
Make sure NFC is enabled in your phone settings and that you are tapping the back of the phone (near the camera) directly against the product’s chip area. Remove any thick cases that may block the signal. If problems persist, contact us with your phone model and the product details and we’ll help.
Is there an Android version of the Veritas app?
Not at this time. The consumer Veritas app is currently iOS-only. Anyone with a chipped product can still see the certificate by tapping the chip with an NFC-capable phone — Safari (on iPhone) and Chrome (on Android) both open the product’s authenticity page in the browser, but advanced features like saving items and transferring ownership require the iOS app.
I’m a brand and want to chip our products. How does that work?
Veritas partners with luxury brands to embed authentication microchips into their products. Brand onboarding is handled outside the consumer app — please request a demo and our team will reach out to discuss your needs.
